Eternally popular and one of my favourite readings to do, a Solar Return Astrology Reading focuses on the moment when the Sun returns to the exact degree it occupied at the time of your birth, which happens once a year, typically around your birthday (it is not always the exact date but always very close).
This chart is like a snapshot of the energies and influences that will be present in your life over the next 12 months. It can have such a different influence in your life compared with your natal chart, that my Business clients always value knowing what’s going on in the year ahead. Some years you are designed to be focusing on working in community, some years are more dedicated to your personal growth and business may be ticking over, and other years are like rocket fuelled expansion.
It’s worth knowing so you can stay aligned with the energetic cosmic patterns influencing your life.
Here are the things that I can cover in your Solar Return reading (as well as respond to your individual questions):
- Key Themes for the Year Ahead We can identify what major areas of life will be in the spotlight for you this year such as is the emphasis on career, relationships, health, personal development, spiritual development or finances? We would also look at the general patterns of your emotional health and the nature of your intuition and feelings as the moon’s position will reveal how your emotional needs and inner world might shift this year or what you will most need to nurture your emotions throughout the year ahead.
- Opportunities and Challenges Transits of planets like Jupiter and Uranus highlight opportunities for personal or professional growth. Saturn’s position show where discipline or hard work will be needed, and the tests that come up in your life. Also where you’re most likely to knuckle down. Any difficult planetary aspects are read as revealing challenges or lessons that could arise and what is likely to be the nature of the growth arising from these. This is never about fortune telling or predicting the future – my readings are always about empowering you as the individual you truly are and being able to have advance notice of the energies you are going to be working with. I take the view that everything is always working out for you and this includes challenges that require you to grow.
- Career – your professional path, your daily working routines and how your work might evolve, such as potential career shifts, promotions or new types of work.
- Relationship dynamics: your solar return shows how your love life, romantic liaisons and partnerships may be influenced by planetary placements during this year. Hint – if you are seeking a relationship, the nature of that relationship can be seen very clearly and , including whether it’s a good time for commitment or working through challenges.
- Finances, wealth & abundance: An overview of your financial situation, including potential gains, expenses, or new ways to create abundance.
- Spiritual and Personal Development Inner growth: The solar return can reveal what kind of personal and spiritual development might take place and how you can align with your higher purpose. Guidance on how to make the most of your natural gifts and intuition to manifest your desires, and aspects of your developing spiritual growth and abundance can be seen in your chart for this year.
- Timing and Key Dates timing can be seen from the solar return chart, although if I’m really honest I find that timing from solar return not to be as reliable as transits, so I would be more likely to call up a transit chart to support your solar return. Most of my clients find it well worth knowing the key important times during the year when they will feel certain planetary influences more intensely, like eclipses or significant transits, which can act as be pivotal moments and catalysts.
Interested to book a reading for yourself? Here’s how….
When you book a reading, just select the time you would like – 60, 90 or 120 minutes. A solar return reading usually takes 1 hour. If you would like to combine this with another reading please select 90 or 120 minutes. I’d love it if you send me an email before your reading with a few bullet points to let me know what you’d most like me to tune into and I will prepare accordingly.
